Prof. Dr. Haluk DUMAN

Haluk Duman

He was born in 1962 in Ankara, Turkey. After completing his primary and secondary education in Ordu and Ankara, he graduated from Kuleli Military High School in 1980. In the same year, he began his medical education at Çapa Medical School. He graduated from Gülhane Military

 

Medical Academy (GATA) in 1986. Between 1987 and 1990, he served as the division health branch director in Erzurum. In 1989, he spent six months at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, USA, focusing on health organization and burn treatment. In 1990, he started his residency in plastic surgery at GATA Medical School.

 

Between 1995 and 1997, he worked as a plastic surgery specialist at Çorlu Military Hospital. From 1997 to 2003, he served as an assistant professor at the GATA plastic surgery clinic. In 2000, he worked for one year at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, focusing on cancer reconstruction and cutaneous malignant tumors. He became a university associate professor in 2003 and a full professor in 2009.

Currently, he works as a plastic surgery specialist at Anadolu Health

 

Center (affiliated with Johns Hopkins) in Gebze, Kocaeli. Prof. Dr. Haluk Duman is also a subspecialist in hand surgery and maxillofacial surgery. He is a member of various professional organizations, including TPRECD (Turkish Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons), IPRAS (International Confederation of Plastic Surgery Societies), the Aesthetic Surgery Association, the Microsurgery Association, the Surgical Infection Association, and the Burn Surgery Association. He has authored over 30 original international articles.
